Crowdfunding is both a very popular alternative to gaining access to equity and loans, and it is a very diverse industry. It is fast becoming a key alternative to traditional financial services organisations as there are equity finance platforms such as Crowdcube, Seedrs and Syndicate Room; and there are business-to-business and consumer peer-to-peer lending platforms such as Zopa, Funding Circle, and Ratesetter. Crowdfunding is moving into the commercial and home buying mortgage market too.
